4. R&D Approaches
R&D activities are undertaken by a number of organizations using a variety of systems. The NDF makes integrated assessments of these R&D activities and seeks the overall optimization of R&D approaches based on the particular features of each activity and their expected results.Examples of R&D by each organization
(1) R&D implemented by TEPCO and plant manufacturers
(2) Government R&D carried out by research institutes such as IRID assuming practical application to the site
(3) Development of R&D centers and R&D promotion of basic technology by the JAEA
(4) R&D promoted by research institutes and universities
